It is non-toxic in animals and humans, displays antibacterial activity, decreases water loss, and may also help reduce the pain of inflammatory bowel diseases.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBismuth salicylate and other bismuth salts have been shown to inhibit plaque formation of enteric rotavirus in vitro.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe salicylate component has an antiprostaglandin synthetase effect which may enhance its action in controlling acute secretory diarrhoea.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBentonite is a natural clay earth with properties similar to activated charcoal, and the ability to bind bacterial endotoxin.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDosage and Administration:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eHorses : 0.5 to 1 mL\/kg bodyweight orally.\u003cbr\u003eDogs : 0.25 to 0.5 mL\/kg bodyweight orally.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eRepeat dose every 6 hours for 36 hours, and then at 12 hour intervals for a further 2 to 3 days.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eShake container thoroughly before extracting dose.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWarnings:\u003cbr\u003ePrecautions : If the condition does not resolve with appropriate symptomatic therapy, further diagnostic evaluation should be considered.\u003cbr\u003eWarnings : Safety in pregnant animals has not been established.
